With this celebration Pope Francis wanted to recall the importance of the relationship between all generations. Bp Paolo explains why this relationship is so important, fundamental for our life, especially in our Vicariate where many of us live far away from their grandparents and elderly relatives.

During this summer break, Summer Camps for the children are being organized in our parishes throughout the Vicariate thanks to the dedication of our priests and hundreds of volunteers who are mostly teenagers and young adults.

What is the worst thing we can see in the world? What are the signs of sin that can manifest themselves in societies, including in the Church and families? It is division, separation, dispersion. Let us not think that evil is only outside of us. Our sins are the origin of all division. But Jesus took upon himself the sins of the whole world. It is through the cross of Christ that every division is overcome and the possibility of reconciliation opens up for everyone.

Msgr. Paolo Martinelli welcomes the new Working Document ("Instrumentum Laboris") as a document with clear direction for the coming October Synodal Assembly in which he will take part.

Who is guiding our life, is there a meaning to this life? What is our task on this earth, our mission? We are not on earth by chance. We are beloved, wanted, called by God. We are all called through our work and with our lives to participate in the mission of Jesus and bring the Gospel to all through the testimony of our lives.

Bp Paolo Martinelli went to Ghala Parish to lay the foundation stone of a new building and celebrated Mass, inviting us, in his homily, to meditate on a very important Biblical figure: the prophet. Who is a prophet and what is his importance in the history of the salvation? Is Jesus just a prophet or is he someone greater? Do we still have prophets in the Church today?

The new building will provide dedicated spaces for Catechism classes, community gatherings and parish activities, a residence for priests, and various offices, The ceremony was officiated by Bp Paolo Martinelli in the presence of Dr. Ahmed Khamis Masood Al Bahri, director in Oman's Ministry of Religious Endowments and Religious Affairs.

Bp Paolo Martinelli, OFM Cap., was installed as Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia on 2nd July 2022. He celebrated the 2nd anniversary of his installation in St Joseph's Cathedral Parish, Abu Dhabi, in presence of more than 300 children from the Summer Camp.

Nearly 1000 male and female workers were treated as VIPs in International Labour Day celebration hosted by St Mary’s Catholic Church, Dubai, on Sunday 30 June. The daylong event was attended by Government officials and the Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia, and celebrated Dubai’s spirit of saluting the sacrifices of the workforce.

H.E. Msgr. Kryspin Dubiel, who has been in the Apostolic Nunciature in Abu Dhabi since 2021, was appointed Apostolic Nuncio to Angola. H.E. Bp Paolo Martinelli expresses his gratitude for his work in the UAE and assures him of his prayers for his new mission.
