15-16 January witnessed the annual Gulf Churches Fellowship Meeting at St. Andrews' Church, Abu Dhabi.
This year, the event marked the signing of a declaration by the five global families of the Gulf Churches Fellowship (Anglicans, Catholics, Eastern Orthodox, Oriental Orthodox and Protestants). A copy of the declaration is accesible

Bishops Paul Hinder and Camillo Ballin, the Custos Fr. Paul Koenig, Fr. Gandolf, Fr. Youssef, Fr. Peter P. M. and Fr. Ben Barrameda represented the Catholic Church at the Fellowship.
H.E. Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak, the Minister of State for Tolerance invited the delegates on the second day to a majlis which concluded with lunch. H.E. Sheikh Nahyan highlighted the emergence of the United Arab Emirates as a beacon of tolerance and peaceful co-existence under the vision of the late Sheikh Zayed. He thanked the representatives of Christianity for their peaceful presence in the UAE and their role in the development of the nation on various fronts.
